JOINT TYPE OMEGA

DESCRIPTION

A very particular joint whose geometry allows the sharing of loads but which reduces the thickness of the jet plate in the convex side and this is a factor that plays against it.
The joint is very robust but over the years has been replaced by other more efficient and easier to produce models.

COMPOSITION

The joint is composed of two folded sheets 4 mm thick in S235 that remind two "omega" one inside the other, on the sides of the sheets some lattice girders of various sizes are welded according to the height of the sheets that serve as a gripping on the concrete.

USE

Used for the construction of classic floors where there are no particular heavy loads.
Joint not recommended because its geometry reduces the thickness of the casting plate.

THE BIRTH

The joint type OMEGA was born in the first years of production of joints for industrial floors.
It was born because of the need for a robust solution and a geometry that would optimize transport spaces.
However, this type of joint is now outdated and has given way to other more innovative and performing products.
